Country singer Bailey Zimmerman is facing felony and misdemeanor criminal charges in New Mexico after he allegedly trashed a hotel room and caused more than $16,000 in damage during his arena tour this spring.

Prosecutors in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, filed criminal papers to obtain an arrest warrant against Zimmerman on June 18. They are seeking a felony charge for criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor charge of falsely obtaining services stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred on May 27, 2026. Zimmerman is facing a fourth-degree felony for criminal damage to property over $1,000.

What Allegedly Happened

Zimmerman had been scheduled to perform at the amphitheater at Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque but canceled his concert at the last minute. According to the arrest warrant, the 26-year-old appeared to be exhibiting signs of intoxication during sound check that day, allegedly stumbling into the amphitheater before tripping over the stage and falling backward. He then allegedly threw two cymbals, kicked a drum set, pushed a guitarist and knocked down a microphone before angrily leaving the stage.

The resort reportedly asked Zimmerman to leave because of his behavior, but he allegedly initially refused to depart on a bus provided by the resort. Police were eventually contacted and Zimmerman was escorted off the property.

According to court documents, housekeeping discovered the artist's room in disarray the following day, with the hotel estimating the damage at roughly $16,000. The alleged damage included a television, phone, coffee table and two chairs. Resort staff also reported a hole in one wall, damage to several others, stains on the carpet and two missing chairs. The hotel also claims Zimmerman charged over $400 worth of alcohol to the room without settling his tab.

Both hotel staff and police tried to contact the singer and his team, but no one responded, leading to an arrest warrant being issued.

When the Albuquerque show was canceled in May, Zimmerman gave no indication of any incident on his end. "Y'all know there's nothing I love more than getting out on the road and playing these shows for you, so it's so hard for me to have to say this, but I have to reschedule tonight's (5/27) and Saturday's (5/30) shows," Zimmerman wrote on Instagram at the time. "I have not been feeling well and have tried to power through, but I'm not able to give you all the show you deserve," he added. The rescheduled dates included his Rohnert Park, California, concert on May 30.

Tour Continued After the Incident

Zimmerman went on to perform at the 2026 CMA Fest in Nashville on June 7 before heading to Canada to continue his Different Night Same Rodeo Tour. His next show is scheduled for June 25 at the Country Drive Music Festival in Nebraska.
