Millie Bobby Brown Welcomes Second Baby With Jake Bongiovi
Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi have expanded their family again. The "Stranger Things" star, 22, and her husband, 24, have welcomed their second child through adoption, a source confirmed to People on Thursday, Sept. 17.
The news comes just over a year after the couple became parents for the first time, welcoming a baby girl through adoption in the summer of 2025. Brown and Bongiovi have not publicly commented on the new addition, and representatives for the couple had not responded to the report at the time it was published.
A Quiet Announcement Hidden in Plain Sight
True to form, Brown and Bongiovi haven't made a formal announcement about their second child. The couple has remained fiercely protective of their children's privacy since becoming parents, and they've never publicly revealed the name of their first daughter.
Fans, however, may have already caught a glimpse of the family's growth. Earlier this month, Brown shared a look at the family's vacation in the Dolomites, Italy, captioning the post simply, "Different in the Dolomites," without addressing any new addition. In a video posted to Instagram on Sept. 7, Brown could be seen carrying her daughter while walking alongside an alpaca.
Adoption Has Long Been Part of Brown's Vision
Brown has spoken openly about wanting to build her family through adoption well before she and Bongiovi welcomed their first child. Earlier this year, she explained on Kylie Kelce's podcast, "Not Gonna Lie," that adopting children had been part of her dream since childhood.
She's also described the emotional experience of becoming a mother for the first time. On the July 13 episode of "On Purpose" with Jay Shetty, Brown recalled "the most magical phone call" that let her and Bongiovi know their family was about to grow. "It was the most surreal feeling and yet we both knew in that moment that we had found each other," she said. "Like, oh my goodness, this is our girl, 100 percent, no doubt." She also acknowledged that the adoption process itself required patience. "The process is long and rightfully so," she said.
Brown has said in past interviews that she never saw a meaningful difference between adopting and having a biological child. "I don't see having your own child as really any different in adopting," she said in one earlier interview. "I feel like my home is full of love for anyone or anything."
Their First Daughter Arrived Last Summer
Brown and Bongiovi announced their first child in a joint Instagram post in August 2025, writing, "This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were 3." The post included a photo of a willow tree rather than the baby herself, continuing the couple's pattern of shielding their children from public view.
A Relationship That Moved Quickly
Brown and Bongiovi, the son of Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi, first sparked dating rumors in 2021 and made their red carpet debut together in March 2022. The couple got engaged in April 2023 and married in a private ceremony in May 2024.
Bongiovi has said the couple always envisioned a big family, and Brown has pointed to her own parents, who were 19 and 21 when they had their first child, as part of what shaped her outlook on starting a family young.
Brown is currently preparing for the end of an era professionally as well. "Stranger Things" Season 5, her longest-running role, is set to conclude later this year, closing out the story of Eleven after nearly a decade on the Netflix series.
