If you were caught up in the massive AT&T data breach, there’s finally some news that might bring you a little bit of relief.

A $177 million AT&T lawsuit settlement has been reached, and millions of current and former customers may now be eligible for compensation.

Whether your Social Security number or other personal details were swept up in the breach, this is the moment to check if you qualify for compensation and file your claim.

$177 Million Settlement: What AT&T Customers Need to Know

In 2024, AT&T disclosed two major breaches that exposed sensitive customer data. The first revealed the personal details of more than 73 million account holders, including Social Security numbers, addresses, and passcodes.

Just a few months later, hackers struck again, this time affecting roughly 110 million people by stealing phone records, billing information, and other private data.

Although AT&T has denied any wrongdoing, the class action lawsuit that followed led to a massive settlement. The agreement divides customers into two groups, depending on which breach affected them. Some people may qualify for both, which means double the opportunity to file.

How Much Could You Receive?

Here’s the part everyone wants to know: the payout. If you can show proof of documented financial losses linked to the breaches, you could receive up to $5,000 for the first incident and $2,500 for the second.

If you don’t have any receipts or paperwork, tiered cash payments may be available. The exact amount will depend on how many people submit claims, since the funds will be split among all eligible class members.

While we still don’t know the final AT&T settlement payout date, the judge overseeing the case will review the agreement this December. Once it has final approval, payments will begin rolling out.

How to File Your AT&T Lawsuit Claim

Filing your claim is straightforward. Kroll Settlement Administration, the court-appointed group managing the process, has set up a dedicated website where you can submit your AT&T lawsuit claim online.

If you prefer old-fashioned mail, there’s also an option to send in a printed form. Just be sure to do it before the deadline on November 18, 2025.

Sadly, you still have to be cautious, however. There are new scams out there trying to mimic the official notices. The real emails are from the Kroll Settlement Administration and use the address attsettlement@e.emailksa.com. If you’re feeling a little uneasy, you can also confirm your eligibility directly on the official settlement site.

What Happens If You Do Nothing?

If you’ve received notice about the AT&T settlement but don’t file, you won’t receive any money.

You’ll also miss the chance to hold onto your right to sue separately unless you officially opt out. The deadline to do that is October 17, 2025.

So, whether you plan to file for compensation or preserve your legal rights, don’t sit this one out.

Claim Your Share of the AT&T Settlement

This AT&T lawsuit is one of the largest data breach settlements in recent years, and it’s here to help customers whose private information was compromised.

If you were an AT&T customer during the affected periods, it’s worth taking a few minutes to check your eligibility and submit a claim.

The best thing you can do is keep an eye out for updates on the AT&T lawsuit payout, and make sure your paperwork is in by the deadline. A little action now could mean a little cash back in your pocket later.
