The McRib Returns Nationwide on November 11

The McRib is making its seasonal comeback. McDonald’s confirmed one of our favorite sandwiches will return to participating locations nationwide on November 11th.

But, we might have to act fast because they haven’t said how long it’s going to last. As we know, when it disappears, that’s it until the next round.

What Is the McRib?

The sandwich is simple: a seasoned pork patty shaped to resemble ribs, served on a soft roll with barbecue sauce, onions, and pickles.

On its own, the patty isn’t particularly remarkable. But, the combination works. The sauce, the soft bread, the texture of the pickles, the familiar sweetness and smoke – it has a way of tasting exactly the way we remember it.

Can you believe the McRib first debuted in Kansas City in 1981 and went national in 1982? It came and went for years before being removed as a permanent item in 2005.

Since then, it’s resurfaced in limited runs. The return in 2020 felt almost nostalgic. Then, the farewell tour in 2022 made us think that was the end of the road.

Yet, it appeared again in 2023, 2024, and, now, 2025. We suppose the scarcity is part of the appeal.

Finding One Near You

This isn’t exactly a McRib nationwide release. Not every McDonald’s store will launch the McRib at the same time.

If you want to know where it is already available, the long-running McRib Locator will track real-time sightings reported by customers.

Once the rollout begins, updates usually move quickly. Some fans treat the search like a small seasonal ritual, comparing notes online and sharing first-bite reactions the moment they have one.

The excitement often builds neighborhood by neighborhood, which is part of the fun. For some, the chase is part of the McRib experience.

Nutritional Snapshot

Here are the McRib Nutrition Facts:

  • 520 calories

  • 28 grams of fat

  • 46 grams of carbohydrates

  • 24 grams of protein

And, again, this is part of McDonald’s limited-time menu, just something we can look forward to once or twice each season.

The McRib Return of 2025: Why It Makes Sense This Year

Seasonal drops are having a moment. Fast food and beverage brands are leaning into limited-time releases that are sparking curiosity and nostalgia.

Starbucks has already had their holiday cup and drink rollout and, earlier this month, Coca-Cola released their Holiday Creamy Vanilla soda.

All of these treats are reminders of something familiar, maybe even a little bit quirky. They have a way of cutting through the noise of the season, giving us a shared moment to chat about with friends and family.

A Small Tradition to Look Forward To

For some, the McRib is tied to memory. For others, it’s more about the excitement of the ritual. Mostly, it’s just something fun to look forward to as the year winds down.

If it’s something you’ve been waiting for, this is definitely your moment. Pop open your McRib Locator and let the joy of the season begin.
