Woman Accused of Hiding Razor Blades in Bread Loaves at Walmart

A woman has been arrested for putting razor blades in bread loaves at Walmart stores in Mississippi.

Camille Benson, 33, from Texas, was arrested late last month on a charge of attempted mayhem. Police said she stuffed bread loaves with razors at two Walmart’s in Biloxi.

Sunday, a customer told employees they found a blade in a loaf of bread. Employees checked the rest and found more loaves had been tampered with.

Surveillance footage caught Benson entering the stores and committing the crime.

What Walmart Says

Walmart pulled all the bread and inspected it. "The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority," they said in a statement.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t prevent people from tampering with food.

If you bought bread from a Biloxi Walmart recently, check it before you eat it. Police are asking customers to look for sharp objects. If you find anything, please contact them.

Customers who bought tampered products can throw them out and get a full refund from Walmart. Authorities don't think other stores were targeted. Just these two in Biloxi.

Why Though?

Benson's bond is $100,000. She's being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.

No information has been released on why she did this. A 33-year-old from Texas drove to Mississippi to put razor blades in bread at Walmart. Sounds like an agenda to hurt random people buying groceries. A pretty brazen one at that.

She walked into stores with cameras everywhere, grabbed bread, somehow put razor blades in the loaves, and put them back on the shelf.

The charge is attempted mayhem, which makes sense since someone biting into a razor blade could get seriously hurt or killed.

This is the kind of thing that makes you paranoid about grocery shopping. You can't even trust a loaf of bread anymore. Benson's in jail on $100,000 bond. No word on when she appears in court. Attempted mayhem carries serious penalties.

The whole thing is bizarre. She got caught on camera doing it, so there's no question she did it. Now she's facing serious charges over hiding razor blades in bread.

Bottom line, if you recently bought bread from either Walmart in Biloxi, Mississippi, check it immediately. Or simply throw it out, just to be on the safe side.
