Wendy's Made an Emo Album for Late-Night Parking Lot Feelings
Burgers, fries, and existential despair have finally found each other. Wendy's emo album is filled with heartbreak, Frostys, and enough early-2000s nostalgia to make us wonder where we put our studded belts.
Even Wendy got a makeover for the occasion, trading her familiar red pigtails for dark, side-swept hair, black eyeliner, and black bows.
The album was released September 23rd, and it’s giving us a soundtrack for those nights when nothing is going right, but at least the fries are hot.
Wendy's New Album Gives Fast Food the Emo Treatment
Wendy's new album is called Songs to Listen to in a Wendy's Parking Lot, and there's a reason the name is so specific. Wendy's says customers have been using its parking lots as a backdrop for emotional moments from the comfort of their cars for years.
With emo and pop-punk enjoying a cultural resurgence, Wendy’s decided those parking-lot sessions needed a soundtrack. This isn't six tracks of corporate jingles, either. Wendy's brought in producer Matt Squire, whose credits include Panic! at the Disco, Simple Plan, and Sum 41.
Musicians with ties to Silverstein, Memphis May Fire, and Anberlin also appear on the album. Wendy's says the music was made by real musicians and wasn't generated by AI.

Wendy's Has Made Music Before
Believe it or not, this isn't Wendy's first musical side hustle. They released a five-track hip-hop mixtape called We Beefin'? in 2018.
This time around, it's swapping rap battles for crunchy guitars, big choruses, and the kind of anguish that follows a late-night combo meal. The new album is available on Spotify and other major streaming services.
