Influencer Igho 'Tiny' Ubiribo Dies After Penis Enlargement Procedure
British-Nigerian influencer Igho "Tiny" Ubiribo, 43, died from a pulmonary embolism caused by a cosmetic penis-filler procedure he underwent in Bangkok in March, a London coroner ruled this month.
Ubiribo, who also went by the names Denisi and Ego online, had built a following of roughly 185,000 on Instagram around a jet-setting lifestyle, documenting trips to destinations including Paris, Cape Town and Bali, and his death has drawn tributes from friends including Afrobeats star Davido, with whom he reportedly shared a close personal friendship.
What Happened in Bangkok
Ubiribo underwent the procedure at an unnamed Bangkok clinic while vacationing with his wife, Zimbabwean fashion designer Danielle Simba Allen, in March.
The treatment involved injecting 40 milliliters of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine, a filler-based enlargement procedure that British urology experts have cautioned can carry risks including infection, scarring, loss of sensation and erectile dysfunction. Shortly after the injections, the couple went for a massage at their hotel, where Ubiribo began experiencing chest pain and lost consciousness twice. His death adds to a string of cases involving cosmetic procedures performed abroad turning fatal for online personalities in recent years.
Emergency Treatment and Death
Paramedics rushed Ubiribo to Sukhumvit Hospital, where he was initially able to respond to questions from medical staff, and Allen told doctors about the injections he had just received. He lost consciousness again before he could complete a recommended CT scan, and doctors diagnosed a pulmonary embolism, a sudden blockage in the blood vessels of the lungs, before moving him into intensive care.
He died in the early hours of March 6 after close to two hours of CPR, according to hospital records described in the inquest. The information Allen provided medical staff about the injections he had received shortly before his collapse later became a key part of the coroner's investigation into what caused it.
Coroner Rules Cause of Death
At an inquest held at Inner West London Coroners' Court, Coroner Jean Harkin ruled that Ubiribo's death resulted directly from the cosmetic procedure. A postmortem examination found cellular material in his lungs matching the hyaluronic acid used in the injections, confirming the filler had entered his bloodstream.
His primary care physician noted that Ubiribo had previously undergone joint surgery and was living with gout and pre-diabetes at the time of his death, details the coroner's court weighed alongside the timeline of the procedure and his collapse.
Remembering Ubiribo
Ubiribo was buried in London, where mourners including Davido and Nigerian entertainer Cubana Chief Priest gathered to pay their respects, with reports describing an elaborate, gold-toned coffin as part of the send-off. Davido wrote afterward, "You loved and believed in me so much. I won't let you down."
Ubiribo was known among friends and followers for a lavish lifestyle, reportedly owning a $1.1 million home in Los Angeles's Crenshaw neighborhood alongside a $600,000 London apartment. His 2022 wedding to Allen in Zimbabwe, reported to have cost roughly $473,000, had itself drawn wide attention online at the time for its scale.
