Taylor Swift Announces Six-Part Eras Tour Docuseries on Disney+
Taylor Swift is giving fans something new to look forward to this winter: a six-part docuseries chronicling the making, impact, and final chapter of her record-shattering Eras Tour, paired with a concert film capturing the tour’s last performance. The announcement came live on Good Morning America on October 13.
A Winter Premiere, Inside and Out
Swift revealed that the first two episodes of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era will premiere on December 12, 2025, with the remaining episodes dropping two per week over the following two weeks. Simultaneously, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour | The Final Show, a concert film featuring the full closing performance in Vancouver, will also debut on Disney+.
In an Instagram post following the announcement, Swift wrote:
It was the End of an Era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.
This rollout gives fans both a backstage window into Swift’s creative life and the spectacle of the final night itself, filmed in full.
Context: After the New Album
The docuseries and film arrive on the heels of Swift’s release of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which dropped October 3. In interviews around the release, Swift expressed a newfound sense of ease and pride in this album rollout, saying she felt “uncomplicated” joy in contrast to past releases.
Notably, she wrote and recorded The Life of a Showgirl during the European leg of the Eras Tour in 2024, infusing the album with direct ties to that period of her life and performance. The album also features nods to her relationship with her fiancé, Travis Kelce, with several tracks inspired by their connection.
What the Series Could Reveal
While Disney+ hasn’t released a full episode breakdown, media coverage suggests the docuseries will explore both the macro and personal sides of the tour: its global scale, production logistics, the emotional journey of closing such a massive chapter, and moments behind the scenes with collaborators, family, and friends.
One preview clip showed Swift in a rehearsal setting with Kelce, makeup-free and candid—indicating the series will not shy away from the raw, unfiltered energy of life on tour. The Final Show film reportedly includes the full “The Tortured Poets Department” set, which was not featured in her earlier Eras Tour concert film.
Looking Ahead
The Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024, spanned 149 shows across 51 cities and five continents—grossing over $2 billion and becoming the highest-grossing tour in history.
Swift’s previous concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, captured select Los Angeles shows and became the highest-grossing concert film ever. A fuller behind-the-scenes narrative has long been speculated by fans and media alike.
This docuseries represents an opportunity to document not only the musical and logistical feat of the tour but also the human stakes—how an artist sustains creativity, relationships, and personal identity while undertaking a global journey.
Whether the docuseries will open new doors into unseen emotional terrain or reinforce what fans already love about her storytelling remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: Taylor is inviting viewers deep into a moment she’s described as “the most important and intense chapter of our lives”—no filters, no shortcuts, just full devotion to the story.
