'Dutton Ranch' Is Officially Coming Back for Season 2 After a Record-Breaking Start
When Yellowstone ended, plenty of fans wondered whether Beth and Rip could carry an entire series on their own.
It didn't take long to get an answer.
Just weeks after its debut, Paramount+ has announced that Dutton Ranch has been renewed for a second season following a record-breaking launch that made it the biggest original series premiere in the streaming service's history.
‘Dutton Ranch’ Is Already a Huge Hit
The numbers tell the story. According to Paramount+, the Dutton Ranch Paramount+ debut drew in 12.9 million viewers worldwide during its first week, making it the platform's most successful original series launch to date.
It also became the No. 1 streaming show in the United States during its premiere week, giving the Yellowstone universe another major success.
That's a remarkable achievement for a show that had the difficult job of following one of TV’s biggest modern Westerns.
Beth and Rip Still Have Plenty of Stories Left to Tell
The Yellowstone Beth and Rip spinoff picks up after the events of the original series, following Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they attempt to build a new life on a ranch in South Texas.
Of course, if you've watched even a few episodes, you already know peace and quiet aren't exactly part of the package.
New rivals, fresh family challenges, and plenty of hard choices have kept the couple just as busy in Texas as they ever were back in Montana.
Fans Won't Be Saying Goodbye Yet
With Dutton Ranch season 2 now officially on the way, fans can breathe a little easier knowing that Beth and Rip's story isn't ending with this season's finale.
While Paramount+ hasn't announced a premiere date or revealed any plot details for the new season, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are both expected to return as executive producers and leading cast members.
There has been one notable change behind the scenes, however.
Series creator and showrunner Chad Feehan will not be returning for Season 2, although Paramount+ hasn’t announced who will take over those responsibilities yet.
The ‘Yellowstone’ Universe Keeps Growing
Taylor Sheridan's TV empire shows no signs of slowing down.
Along with Dutton Ranch, the franchise will also expand with other projects that will explore different branches of the Dutton family story.
The continued success of Beth and Rip's series proves that fans are more than willing to keep riding along.
Saddle Up for Another Season
For most of us, Beth and Rip were always the emotional center of Yellowstone.
Now, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s Dutton Ranch has proven those characters can thrive well beyond the original series.
With record-breaking ratings, another season officially on the books, and plenty of unfinished business waiting in Texas, it looks like this chapter of the Dutton story is just getting started.
