I am about to become the hand of retribution for my entire family,” one message allegedly read. Another stated: “All I do is warfare … everyone needs to be worried about what I might do.”
Claims of an Armed Background
The filing states that Seaver invoked what he described as a background in military contracting, access to weapons, and a capacity for violence to reinforce his demands. In one message, he allegedly described himself as “literally an international arms dealer and mercenary.” Nozell’s court submission says the threats led multiple estate staff members to resign or stop coming to work. The company and its vendors responded by hiring additional private security personnel to protect Parton’s properties and business operations.
What the Restraining Order Covers
The temporary restraining order bars Seaver from interfering with Parton’s business operations, contacting her business partners, and approaching estate offices within a specified distance. She’s Alive, LLC oversees Parton’s commercial portfolio, which includes Dollywood, music licensing, and a series of planned posthumous releases. A similar restraining order was granted to Sabrina Carpenter after a stalker attempted to break into her home, another case in which a public figure sought court protection against threatening conduct.
Seaver Denies the Messages Were Threats

He described the exchanges as “rage talk and crying on the phone together while we were grieving,” framing them as expressions of anguish between two people mourning Parton’s death rather than a coordinated attempt at extortion. He acknowledged his military contracting background but denied the intent attributed to his statements by the filing.
The legal action comes as She’s Alive, LLC moves forward with Parton’s plans for posthumous recordings and ongoing business ventures.
