Are you like us? …tuning into award shows just to catch a glimpse of the fashion and hear our favorite stars answer interview questions from our favorite TV hosts? Some of us wait all year for award season so we can see what everyone’s been up to.

Then, after the show, we hop online to see who was deemed to be the best and worst dressed of the night. Thankfully, Hollywood stars have thick skin. How else could they deal with all the scrutiny? So, as fans of fashion as a form of art, we’d like to take a moment to break down our favorite looks from the SAG Awards red carpet. Let’s see if you agree.

Best: Kristin Bell

We said it in our review of the best and worst moments of the SAG Awards: everything Kristin touches turns to gold, and her red carpet look was no exception. She donned a multi-colored, strapless Armani Privé sensation from their Spring/Summer 2025 couture collection. This, too, was one of our favorite red carpet looks of the night.

Armani Privé is often a go-to for the stars when it comes to red carpets because they rarely get it wrong. Their gowns may not be the most talked about sensations in the room, but they’ll almost always be well-fitted, interesting, and filled with intricate details if you look closely.

This dress fit Kristin like a glove and its lacy, mesh texture with beautiful patterning came together so well. All the different colors created one, cohesive look. As a finishing touch, her wavy hair flowed beautifully, gently touching the neckline of the dress.

Worst: Nicola Coughlan

We hate to say this because there’s nothing we wouldn’t do for Nicola Coughlan. But, her mint green dress paired with long black gloves didn’t hit the mark. The boxy sleeves were a lot for her petite frame to carry, creating an excess of material for our beloved Lady Whistledown to hide behind – and nobody puts Lady Whistledown in the corner.

One sweet moment, however, was when her co-star and friend, Luke Newton, complimented her look because the dress matched her eye color. He was right about that. Please forgive us, Nicola! We love you dearly.

Best: Millie Bobby Brown

Millie Bobby Brown’s look proved to be widely divided – mainly because of her lightened locks, but we need to go with best dressed, based on the gown alone.

In fact, let’s go so far as to say this was one of our favorite red carpet dresses. Millie was wearing a sensuous peach-colored Louis Vuitton creation that draped over her skin like a waterfall.

It was so eye-catching, she didn’t even need a lot of jewelry to finish off the look. Likewise, her makeup was a dewy delight, leaving her skin looking as smooth as silk.

Worst: Cynthia Erivo

Unfortunately, Cynthia Erivo has had to extinguish a few fires since her blockbuster hit, Wicked, with Ariana Grande – and her Givenchy gown was no exception. From the neckline that looked a bit like a lion’s mane, to the sleeves, to the shaggy fringe around the skirt, we felt as though she was wrapped in fish scales without the desired mermaid effect.

She has such a beautiful face that requires little to no makeup; we’d love to see her walk out in a simple, understated look sometime – just to show off her natural beauty without all that noise. P.S. In case you were wondering, we loved Ariana Grande’s red carpet – but we’d only give it an honorable mention.

Best: Keke Palmer

The hilarious Keke Palmer stepped out onto the red carpet in a black velvet strapless gown with golden floral embroidery on the neckline. It was a throwback from Chanel’s Fall/Winter 1985 Ready to Wear collection – and a perfect example of classic glamour gone right.

This gown was show-stopping and well-fitted, and a good example of how to pair black gloves with a floor-length dress. Her fiery red hair and bold red lip topped off the look in a most delightful way.

Interestingly enough, another icon (who made a lot of headlines at the award show), Jamie Lee Curtis, also wore this dress in another lifetime. …which brings us to the next star on our list.

Best: Moeka Hoshi

Not everyone will agree with us because it took a moment for the eye to register what was happening at the waistline of Moeka’s gown. But, as a final verdict, we absolutely loved her look.

It was a silver gown designed by Louis Vuitton. The peplum top had a beautiful lace applique while the silver skirt fell to the floor with a slight train in a most unexpected way. This was a nice example of how you can be eye-catching without overdoing it with, say, a bounty of black feathers. Apologies, Jamie.

Worst: Jamie Lee Curtis

When Jamie Lee Curtis walks into a room, heads turn. She walks with confidence, speaks with poise, and seems to be filled with a lifetime of wisdom. She’s also 66 years old and has held onto her figure like no one else.

Without question, her look was designed to turn heads, but she didn’t need it; she does that all on her own. So, the overabundance of feathers on top of what was sure to be a delicious Dolce & Gabbana sequined gown below was a bit of a mishap, in our humble opinion.

Worst: Timothée Chalamet

What a gorgeous face. This man only gets more and more handsome over time. Yet, his mustache remains highly contentious. That said, with a face and eyes like that, there’s very little he can do to alter his natural beauty.

And, while Timothée loves to push the fashion boundaries – remember that red halter top he wore to his film premiere in Venice – this leather suit with lime green bolo tie didn’t exactly make all the girls swoon. Indeed, this was not one of our favorite red carpet outfits of the night. Still, like Nicola Coughlin, there’s nothing this man can do wrong and we’ll overlook this faux pas.

What Did You Think?

Do you agree with our picks? We were so surprised to see Milli Bobby Brown make some of the worst-dressed lists. But, like art, fashion is subjective and we have to stick to our guns.

As award season draws to a close, we’ll certainly miss all these star sightings. But, we hope you’ll keep coming back for more delicious treats from the world of entertainment as we gear up for some spring and summer movie releases after a cold and dreary winter.
