Best and Worst Moments of the SAG Awards 2025
Have you been enjoying this year’s award season? We have to say, the Grammys have been our favorite so far. For a little while, we weren’t sure if they would go on because of the California fires, but they did – and, boy, were those performances electric.
Still, we love seeing our favorite actors light up the red carpet and the SAG Awards 2025 were no exception. If you’re wondering, “What are the SAG Awards?” it’s a delight for the senses where all our favorite TV and movie stars unite for a night of fun.
SAG Awards 2025
This year, the SAG Awards red carpet was rolled out at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Kristen Bell hosted and, as with nearly everything she touches, her performance was golden.
She began by acknowledging the fact that residents of California have certainly been put through the wringer this year. Then, she said the most attractive section of the room was “right over there” as she pointed to several tables filled with Los Angeles firefighters. (She wasn’t wrong.)
What do you say we have some fun and relive the best and worst moments of the night?
Best: Kristin Bell’s New Rendition
Were you as shocked as us when you discovered Kristin Bell’s singing voice in Frozen? Who knew! Well, she found a clever way to get “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” stuck in our heads again.
She gave graceful shoutouts to many people who had SAG awards nominations, as well as regular attendees like Jamie Lee Curtis, Colin Farrell, Timothée Chalamet, Harrison Ford, and more. As everyone who was spotlighted laughed in their seat, we were reminded that, boy, can that girl sing.
Worst: Jamie Lee Curtis Resurrecting COVID
Truth be told, there weren’t many “worst” moments at this year’s award ceremony. The host was a smash hit; the attendees appeared to be light-hearted and having fun. But, on the heels of the California fires and COVID, we probably could’ve skipped any and all references to the pandemic.
We love us some Jamie Lee Curtis. She drops truth bombs like it's her job and has a lot of wisdom to her years. But, out of all the ways to spend her time on-stage, we probably could’ve skipped the reference to the time when Colin Farrel gave her COVID.
It was said in jest and everyone laughed. But, most of us tune into these award shows as a form of escapism and probably could’ve done without reliving that particular nightmare.
Best: Kieran Culkin’s Acceptance Speech
Doesn’t Keiran Culkin seem like he’d be so much fun to hang out with? He seems like he’s a little… off-center… in the best kind of way. After his success on Succession, he remained unstoppable because he was one of the night’s SAG Awards winners for his work in A Real Pain.
In his acceptance speech, he poked fun at Adrien Brody, who filled every last second of his 45-second acceptance speech while Culkin seemed like he didn’t have anything prepared. It was light-hearted, funny, and Brody got a real kick out of it.
Worst: Jane Fonda’s Tech Glitch
Another screen legend, Jane Fonda, has to make it to our “worst” list. But, like Curtis, it wasn’t even all that bad and she recovered quickly. Fonda received a lifetime achievement award – and rightly so.
In the middle of her speech, the sound system malfunctioned and a strange voiceover briefly cut in. Being a pro in every sense of the word, she rolled with the punches and threw in a joke about how she can even conjure up voices. Bravo, Jane Fonda. Like Curtis, there’s nothing she can’t do.
Best: Ted Danson and William Jackson Harper’s Reunion
We’re back to Kristin Bell again. She’s such a delight. One of her skits was a mini-reunion with her The Good Place co-stars, Ted Danson and William Jackson Harper. They had a little pretend love triangle going on there, as they both competed for Kristin’s attention.
Danson and Jackson Jarper even leaned in for a mock kiss – and had the whole crowd laughing. Bonus: this wasn’t the only reunion! We also saw our beloved stars of New Girl enjoy a happy reunion, as well.
A Night of Fun
Truth be told, without veering off into an analysis of all the red carpet looks, there weren’t many “worst” moments throughout the SAG Awards 2025. There weren’t any controversial jokes dished out by the host; no one ruined the moment by getting too political; and, for the most part, everyone looked great! It seemed like a lot of fun.
Did you enjoy this year’s award season? The SAG Awards is the show that signals things are wrapping up and we were kind of glad to see it go off without a hitch. We’ve had fun reviewing the shows this year and hope you’ll keep coming back as we keep you up to date with all the latest developments in the world of entertainment, politics, health and wellness, and more.
