Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are days away from what friends are calling a "royal wedding," with multiple reports and a city permit filing pointing to Madison Square Garden as the venue for their July 3 reception — and neither the bride nor groom has denied a word of it.

What the Permits Reveal

The clearest confirmation so far came through New York City's permit system. The New York Times first reported that event planning company Winick Productions filed an application with the city's Street Activity Permit Office requesting closure of West 31st Street near Madison Square Garden from July 2 through midday July 4. The permit listed the event size as between 500 and 999 people.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to confirm the plans during a press conference Monday, telling reporters: "We know it coincides with the Knicks' Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding — all happening at the same time — and we are so excited to welcome the world here."

A source at MSG told NBC News the venue has blocked off July 2 through 4 and is making preparations for a major event. A city official also confirmed to the Times that Madison Square Garden is prepared to host wedding festivities on July 3. Amtrak Police officers have reportedly been briefed on the expected event. A massive stage is said to be under construction inside the venue, suggesting performances will be part of the evening.

Why MSG Makes Sense

MSG's layout offers something few other large venues can: total visual privacy. The arena has no exterior windows looking into the main event space and features underground parking, allowing guests to arrive and depart without being photographed by crowds outside. TMZ, which first reported the venue weeks ago, said security plans involve both NYPD and private firms, with streets around the building expected to be closed off.

According to TMZ, between 1,100 and 1,200 guests are expected. Kansas City Chiefs players are reportedly being housed at the Marriott Marquis hotel in Times Square for the wedding weekend. Swift and Kelce have communicated with guests via text rather than physical invitations, according to sources, and guests have been sworn to secrecy about the details.

Ceremony May Be Separate

While the reception at MSG appears to be well underway in its planning, multiple reports indicate the actual wedding ceremony will take place at a separate, more private location. Photos of a white tent outside Swift's $17.75 million oceanside estate in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, sparked speculation about pre-wedding activity on the weekend of June 19 — though a wedding planner confirmed to outlets that the ceremony was not happening that weekend. Swift's longtime best friend Abigail Anderson was spotted near the Rhode Island property around that time.

Friends Are Barely Keeping Secrets

NFL stars in Kelce's circle have been unable to contain their excitement. At Tight End University this week — where Swift made a surprise appearance and performed "Love Story" alongside country star Lainey Wilson — San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle offered perhaps the most telling slip yet.

"She's just such an awesome person to give us her time this close to their wedding," Kittle told People. When asked by Entertainment Tonight whether the MSG reports were true, Kittle said he had asked Kelce directly — and Kelce "laughed at me."

Kyle Juszczyk, husband of designer Kristin Juszczyk, didn't hold back at all. "Really, it is just excitement — it's the royal wedding!" he told Page Six.

Actress Suki Waterhouse confirmed in a May Variety interview that she planned to attend, saying she hoped to get wedding inspiration for her own upcoming nuptials with Robert Pattinson.

One detail confirmed by the groom's camp: guests have been asked to bring no gifts. George Kittle told Extra TV he may ignore that rule, joking he's considering getting Kelce an old coin.

The Bachelor Weekend

While Swift spent time in Rhode Island, Kelce was spotted in Southern California living out his bachelor celebrations. He was seen at the Bird Streets Club in West Hollywood, at a Chris Lake concert where he jumped on stage and fired a bubble gun into the crowd, and in San Diego with his brother Jason Kelce and friends following a Dave Chappelle comedy show.

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August after two years together. Neither has publicly confirmed any details of their wedding plans.
