Caleb Williams left Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings after suffering an apparent leg injury, and it's a tough break for a Bears team that was hoping to build on its Week 1 win.

Williams went down in the fourth quarter with what appeared to be a non-contact injury. He was favoring his right leg on the sideline and didn't put much pressure on it before eventually being helped off the field and into the medical tent. Backup Tyson Bagent stepped in at quarterback in his place.

This is a developing story, and there's no official update yet from the Bears on the severity of the injury or Williams' status going forward. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.

Context Heading Into the Game

Williams and the Bears entered Sunday's matchup at 1-0 after a 59-37 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1, a game in which Williams accounted for 334 total yards and four total touchdowns. Minnesota also came in undefeated, having beaten the Green Bay Packers 39-22 in its opener.

Sunday marked Chicago's home opener at Soldier Field, with the winner set to hold sole possession of first place in the NFC North, since both the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers had already lost earlier in the week.

What to Watch For

With Williams out of the game, all eyes turn to Bagent to close things out for Chicago. How the Bears' offense holds up without their starting quarterback, and what the next update on Williams' injury looks like, will be the two biggest storylines coming out of Sunday's game.
