FBI Director Kash Patel Is Engaged to Country Singer Alexis Wilkins
FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer Alexis Wilkins are engaged.
The couple shared the news on Sunday, Oct. 4, according to People. Wilkins posted a photo of the pair smiling in Nashville, Tennessee, on Instagram with a playful caption: "Went and got the law involved."
Patel, 46, and Wilkins, 27, have been together since early 2023.
How the Couple Met
Patel and Wilkins first met at a friend's event in Nashville in 2022 and began dating several months later, in early 2023.
At the time, Patel was a former Trump administration official and adviser. He was confirmed as FBI director in February 2025 in a narrow 51-49 Senate vote.
Wilkins has pointed to that timeline when pushing back on critics of their relationship, noting that they were dating well before Patel took over the FBI.
Who Is Alexis Wilkins?
Wilkins is a country singer and songwriter based in Nashville. She graduated from Belmont University, and she has released music on streaming platforms for at least five years.
Before focusing on music full time, she worked as press secretary for Arizona Rep. Abe Hamadeh. She has also performed at Turning Point USA events and previously hosted a show on Rumble.
Wilkins was born in Boston and raised in Arkansas, though she spent parts of her childhood living in Europe, several outlets have reported. She'll turn 28 on Nov. 3.
A Public Moment at His Swearing-In
Many Americans first saw Wilkins at Patel's swearing-in ceremony in February 2025. She stood beside him in the Indian Treaty Room at the White House complex, holding the copy of the Bhagavad Gita, the Hindu scripture, that Patel used to take his oath of office.
Patel acknowledged her in his remarks that day, calling her his "beautiful girlfriend."
He has spoken about her support in the role since then. During a December 2025 appearance on Katie Miller's podcast, Patel said the demands of leading the FBI require a strong partner, adding that he's "lucky to have Alexis."
A Relationship Under Scrutiny
The couple's relationship has drawn plenty of public attention and criticism. Patel has faced questions from lawmakers over his use of government aircraft, including trips connected to Wilkins' performances. Patel has said he isn't allowed to fly commercial and that he reimburses the government for personal travel.
Wilkins has also been the target of online conspiracy theories claiming she was a foreign spy. She has repeatedly denied those claims and has filed defamation lawsuits against several podcasters who spread them, including a $5 million suit against former FBI agent Kyle Seraphin.
Patel has publicly defended her, calling the attacks baseless and describing Wilkins as "a true patriot and the woman I'm proud to call my partner in life."
Earlier this year, it was reported that Wilkins had received an FBI protective detail. A representative said it was because she had faced hundreds of credible death threats related to her relationship with Patel.
