The Starbucks Drink Menu is Changing - Here's What's Leaving
The world's largest coffeehouse chain, Starbucks, has over 10 million customers a day worldwide, averaging about 10 customers per hour.
Whether you're a Starbucks member earning points every day or only frequent every now and then, you can see why people love their coffee. While the average drink at Starbucks costs between $2.95-$4.75, the type of drink, size, and inflation are all factors affecting the Starbucks drinks menu.
Chances are if you're willing to pay $3 for a drink, you'll probably pay $4 or $5. Especially if it's your favorite.
Like any other business, Starbucks menu changes depending on the season and popularity, meaning your favorite drink might be on the chopping block in this latest round of cuts.
Why Are Starbucks Menu Cuts Happening?
Starbucks is planning to cut 13 different drinks from their menu. Starbucks' website states,
"We’re simplifying our menu to focus on fewer, more popular items, executed with excellence. This will make way for innovation, help reduce wait times, improve quality and consistency, and align with our core identity as a coffee company."
Simply put, they're removing less popular menu items and making room for innovation. The website also states that more items, not just the Starbucks drinks menu, but the food menu too will be reduced by 30% by the end of the fiscal year in 2025.
This announcement comes on the heels of Brian Niccol's, the new CEO, announcement to lay off 1,100 corporate employees globally in order to streamline operations.
