Safety Warning: Amazon Recalls Multiple Child Products
Multiple baby and toddler products sold exclusively on Amazon have been pulled due to serious safety risks. We're talking suffocation hazards, tip-over risks, and gear that doesn't meet federal standards. And yep, some of these items are popular picks for new parents.
No injuries have been reported yet (thankfully!), but the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says the risks are real. And if you bought one of these? You might want to take action.
The Real Deal: What's Being Recalled (And Why It Matters)
Amazon is a lifesaver for parents. Diapers on demand? Crib delivered in two days? Yes, please. It's also one of the biggest platforms for baby registries. But with all those third-party sellers, it's easy for not-so-safe items to sneak into your nursery.
Here's a look at the products being recalled and what makes them dangerous:
Products Recalled from Amazon in 2025
Dearlomum Retractable Safety Gates
Sold: Dec 2024–May 2025 | Price: $33–$38
These look great in theory… until they trap your baby's torso between the bottom bar and the floor. The CPSC says they violate key safety rules. To get a refund, you'll need to destroy the gate and send in photo proof to the distributor, Signbaby. Not fun, but necessary.
AUGNORYE Padded Crib Bumpers
Sold: Feb–May 2025 | Price: $40–$45
Yes, they're soft. But that's the problem. These violate a federal ban on crib bumpers because they can restrict airflow and increase the risk of suffocation. Refunds are available. You have to cut them up and snap a photo of the destroyed product.
Braided Crib Bumpers by Haoyunm
Sold: Dec 2024–Apr 2025
They're trendy, colorful, and totally unsafe. These bumpers violate the same federal ban and can pose a suffocation hazard for infants. Again, cut and document for a refund.
WLIVE Fabric 15-Drawer Dressers
Sold: Apr 2024–May 2025 | Price: ~$110
Looks cute in a nursery, but if it's not anchored to the wall? It's a tip-over risk. The design violates the STURDY Act, which sets the bar for furniture safety standards. Parents are advised to toss it (responsibly) and submit disposal proof for a refund.
Creekliybear Play Yard Mattresses
Sold: Dec 2024–June 2025 | Price: $28–$40
These aftermarket mattresses are too thick to fit standard play yards properly. That creates a gap where a baby could get trapped. The fix? Destroy and document to get your money back.
What You Can Do Right Now
Stop using the recalled item immediately, even if it seems fine.
Follow the recall instructions to destroy the product and send photo proof.
Get your refund: most brands are issuing one once you complete those steps.
Check your Amazon order history or registry picks just to be safe.
Amazon says it's working with sellers to notify affected buyers and pull the listings. But if something's already in your home, the ball's in your court.
Why This Keeps Happening
Here's the thing, a lot of third-party sellers operate outside the U.S., and they don't always follow the rules. Even banned or non-compliant products can end up listed (and featured!) on Amazon.
It's a good reminder to be vigilant, especially with baby gear. You can also sign up for product recall alerts from the CPSC right here.
Worth a Double-Check, Right?
Whether you're building a baby registry or just welcomed a new bundle of joy into your life, it's always worth doing a safety sweep.
So take 10 minutes, scroll through your Amazon orders, and give that nursery a once-over. Safe beats sorry every time.
Stay safe, stay informed, and keep your little ones protected.
