Panera has spent the last year convincing us that they're listening. And, now, they’re making one of their biggest menu moves in years.
The bakery-café chain just unveiled their Panera summer menu for 2026, and the headline item is something we haven't seen in more than a decade: shrimp.
Whether you're excited about seafood, curious about the new bowls, or looking for an excuse to try a frozen coffee the size of your head, there's quite a bit happening on the menu this summer.
Panera Is Bringing Back Shrimp for the First Time in More Than 10 Years
The biggest surprise is the Panera shrimp return.
Starting this month, shrimp is officially back on Panera's menu after disappearing more than ten years ago.
The seafood comeback arrives as part of the chain's new Shrimply Baja salad, one of several additions that will give us more protein options and more variety, overall.
The New Bowls Might Be the Real Story
While the shrimp is grabbing the headlines, the arrival of Panera market bowls may have the biggest impact, long-term.
This summer, we can try several different chef-curated bowls, including:
Sesame Ginger Chicken
Carnitas Elote
All-In Veggie
Panera says the bowls were created for folks wanting fresher, protein-packed meals that can still be enjoyed on a quick lunch break.
In other words, Panera wants a seat at the same table as all those fast-casual bowls that seem to be multiplying every week.
Other New Menu Items
Panera's new menu items don't stop with shrimp and bowls.
They’re also rolling out:

Breakfast frittatas
Frozen coffee drinks
Asiago Croissant Twist
As for new beverages, we can also look forward to flavored iced coffees, frozen javas, and seasonal drinks designed to compete for summer attention.
All of this makes for one of the largest menu refreshes Panera has launched in quite some time.
