On Tuesday, April 21, Dunkin' will give away one million free coffees to Rewards members. To claim one, open the Dunkin' app and enter the promo code FREECOFFEE1 starting at 9 a.m. local time. The offer is available while supplies last, with a limit of one per customer.
If the code shows up as expired before 9 a.m., that's expected — it won't activate until the offer officially goes live. Once added to an account, customers have seven days to redeem it. Cold brew and extra-large hot coffees are not included.
How Dunkin' Teased the Promotion
The chain announced the giveaway in a deliberately low-key way. On Friday, April 17, Dunkin' posted a screenshot of the Notes app on Instagram with the caption "Just gonna leave this here." One of the notes in the screenshot read "Another million coffees? April 21st?" with the promo code visible below it.
The post leaned into a familiar social media aesthetic — casual, unpolished, and easy to miss if you weren't paying attention. Fans caught on quickly.
This Isn't the First Time
The April 21 giveaway follows a similar promotion Dunkin' ran on April Fools' Day, when the chain also gave away one million free coffees. That offer was well-received, and this second round suggests the company is leaning into the format as a way to drive app engagement and reward loyal customers.
What Else the Notes App Hinted At
Beyond the coffee giveaway, the Instagram post contained a few other notes that caught fans' attention.
One referenced the Oreo Coolatta, a frozen beverage that was pulled from the menu in 2015. The note listed it under "Things I miss," leading many followers to speculate that a return could be coming this summer.
Another note mentioned making content for a new spring menu drop the following week, hinting that more seasonal items could be on the way. Dunkin' already launched a spring menu on March 4 built around banana-flavored items, including the Banana Puddin' Cloud Latte, Banana Daydream Refresher, and Bananarama Matcha.
