Sean "Diddy" Combs was reportedly rushed out of a federal prison in New Jersey for emergency medical treatment after suffering a head injury over the weekend.

The 56-year-old music mogul was taken by ambulance from FCI Fort Dix around 1 a.m. Saturday, according to TMZ, which cited sources at the facility. How he was hurt, and whether anyone else was involved, remains unclear.

What We Know About the Injury

Sources told TMZ that Combs' injury did not appear to be life-threatening. He was reportedly conscious and speaking when he was transported and was returned to the prison before sunrise, about six hours after he left.

It has not been confirmed which hospital or medical facility treated Combs, or what kind of treatment he needed, LiveNOW from FOX reported.

Neither Combs' representatives nor the Federal Bureau of Prisons have publicly commented on the incident. The Daily Caller said it reached out to Combs' team but did not hear back before publishing its report.

A Turbulent Stretch Behind Bars

The reported medical emergency is the latest in a series of headlines about Combs' time in prison.

In July, he was reportedly involved in a fight with another inmate. The Daily Beast reported that he has been placed in solitary confinement twice this year. The incident reportedly affected his release date, which has shifted several times since he began serving his sentence.

In September, records showed his release date had been moved up again. But his projected release date has now been pushed back from January 2028 to March 2028, according to TMZ, which first reported the medical emergency on Monday.

Combs has also faced reports about his living conditions behind bars. The Daily Beast noted unconfirmed claims that he received special treatment in prison, including massages, special meals and access to contraband. Those claims have not been verified.

Why Combs Is in Prison

Combs is serving a 50-month federal sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. A jury acquitted him of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking in July 2025. He is appealing his conviction and sentence.

Before his legal troubles, Combs was one of the most powerful figures in hip-hop. He founded Bad Boy Records in the early 1990s, launched the careers of stars like The Notorious B.I.G. and built a business empire that included fashion, liquor and television ventures.

Combs spent months in a Brooklyn federal jail while awaiting trial after his arrest in September 2024. He was later transferred to Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey, in October 2025, The Daily Beast reported.

Legal Troubles Continue

Outside of prison, Combs continues to face a long list of legal battles. He is still facing numerous civil lawsuits from people who have accused him of sexual misconduct, which he has denied.

Last week, a New York judge ordered him to pay NBCUniversal more than $477,000 in legal fees after his $100 million defamation lawsuit over a Peacock documentary was thrown out. His lawyers in a separate defamation case have also asked to withdraw, saying he is behind on paying them.

Combs' family members and representatives have not shared any updates on his condition since the reported incident. It is not yet known whether the head injury will have any effect on Combs' health going forward or on his time at Fort Dix. More details may emerge as officials or his representatives respond.
