Someone with measles went to Disneyland on January 22. This makes it the second confirmed measles case at the park in a week in the month of January.

They hit Disneyland Park from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Then they visited California Adventure from 3 p.m. to closing. Orange County Health Care Agency announced the news on Saturday, January 7.

If you were there during those hours, you might've been exposed. Seven to 21 days after January 22 is when symptoms could show up. So, be aware even if you think you're in the clear.

Last Week Was Another One

An international traveler came through LAX and went to Disneyland on January 28. They stopped at Goofy's Kitchen from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Then hit both parks from 12:30 p.m. to closing.

Two infected people wandered around Disneyland in one month. Both came from overseas. Both were contagious while walking through crowds of families.

Disney's chief medical officer says they're following health officials' guidance. Pretty standard statement.

Measles Kills People

Everyone knows the red rash. But measles comes with high fever, cough, and runny nose. It can cause pneumonia and encephalitis—brain swelling—which leads to hearing loss, cognitive disabilities, and possibly death.

This makes seven hundred thirty-three confirmed cases in the U.S. as of February 5. This one is the third case in Orange County this year. LA County's got three too.

Some people can't get vaccinated. Reasons being they are too young, have health conditions, or specific vaccine allergies. People like this can get exposed when someone with measles walks around a theme park for eight hours.

What Happens Now

Anyone who was at Disneyland on January 22 or 28 during those times needs to check their immunity status. Not vaccinated? Talk to a doctor about getting vaccinated or getting immune globulin. If exposure was more than 7 days ago and you're not immune? Stay home.

Watch for fever or rash 7 to 21 days after. If symptoms show up, call your doctor first. Don't walk into a clinic and expose everyone there.

Vaccines work, including this one. Multiple studies prove it.

The Gist

Two measles cases have been confirmed at Disneyland in January 2026. Hundreds of people were potentially exposed. Orange County's got three cases this year. The whole country's got 733. Measles spreads fast.

Two infected travelers spent hours at the park while contagious. Now families who went to Disneyland need to watch for symptoms and hope they're vaccinated. The Happiest Place on Earth just became a measles exposure site twice in one month.
