If you’ve ever dreamed of watching a NASA rocket launch on Netflix from the comfort of your couch, this summer is your moment.

NASA+ is officially coming to Netflix, bringing live rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, and jaw-dropping views of Earth straight to your screen. It’s the latest cosmic upgrade from NASA, and a new way for fans of space exploration to stay connected to the stars without ever leaving their living rooms.

NASA’s decision to beam its out-of-this-world content through Netflix is part of a bigger push to make space more accessible. Instead of flipping through cable for NASA TV or digging around on YouTube, we’ll be able to watch NASA live directly on the world’s most popular streaming platform. It's a whole new universe of Netflix space content, just a click away.

NASA+ Lands on Netflix: Space Launch Streams Start This Summer

If you’re wondering what happened to good ol’ NASA TV, don’t worry. It hasn’t vanished. It’s just evolved. NASA+ is the agency’s sleek, modern replacement for its satellite-based TV programming. You can already stream NASA+ content on their website, YouTube, or mobile apps, but the Netflix partnership makes it even easier to access.

NASA+ isn’t just reruns of launches, either. It’s a full streaming platform that will feature behind-the-scenes looks at missions, NASA spacewalks on Netflix, and real-time Earth views from the International Space Station.

We can also look forward to live coverage of events like astronaut returns, crew swaps, and lunar project updates. It’s everything we loved about NASA TV, just wrapped in a fresh new interface.

How to Watch NASA Coverage on Netflix

NASA+ will be fully integrated into the Netflix library. Whether you’re scrolling through true crime, rom-coms, or your favorite sci-fi show, you’ll also see a “Watch NASA live” option when something cosmic is underway. Netflix confirmed that this programming will be available with all membership tiers, starting at $7.99/month.

Rebecca Sirmons, NASA+ general manager, put it beautifully: the goal is to reach people “wherever they are,” whether that's the living room or the palm of their hand. With this move, we’re all a little closer to liftoff.

When Does the NASA+ Streaming Begin?

While NASA hasn’t released an exact launch date, they’ve confirmed that the NASA+ streaming schedule on Netflix will kick off sometime this summer. More programming info and dates will be announced soon. So, keep an eye out, especially if you’re hoping to catch the next NASA rocket launch on Netflix.

In the meantime, space nerds can still stream NASA+ content via the agency’s website and mobile app for free. But, once the Netflix rollout begins, it’ll be easier than ever to stay tuned for upcoming missions and spacewalks with your remote in hand.

Will SpaceX Launches Be Included?

Sort of... The NASA+ content that ends up on Netflix will include some SpaceX rocket launches, specifically the ones where NASA is involved. That means human spaceflight missions like Crew-11 (scheduled for later this summer) will be streamed. The splashdown of the returning Crew-10 astronauts is another event you’ll be able to watch.

However, solo SpaceX commercial missions like Starlink satellite launches or Starship tests won’t be part of the Netflix lineup unless NASA is directly collaborating on the mission. For those, you’ll still need to check SpaceX’s feeds or the official NASA channels.

What Else Is on the NASA+ Schedule?

Aside from launches and landings, NASA+ includes lots of live content worth watching. You can see a NASA spacewalk on Netflix, tune in for up-close looks at science experiments aboard the ISS, and even catch breathtaking, real-time views of our planet from orbit. There's something awe-inspiring about seeing the Earth spin quietly below as astronauts float above.

Best of all, this isn’t just entertainment. It’s education, inspiration, and front-row access to human exploration in action. Whether you're a longtime fan of NASA or just space-curious, this is a unique opportunity to deepen your connection to the stars.
