Smokey Robinson Accused of Sexual Assault by 4 Women
In a shocking twist to a decades-long career built on soulful hits and Motown charm, Smokey Robinson sexual assault allegations have surfaced in a bombshell lawsuit filed in Los Angeles.
Four women who say they were once housekeepers at the 85-year-old singer’s home have come forward with disturbing claims of repeated sexual abuse and labor violations.
The Smokey Robinson lawsuit names not just the Motown legend, but also his wife, Frances Robinson, accusing them of creating a hostile work environment and failing to intervene in ongoing misconduct.
Smokey Robinson Hit With $50 Million Sexual Assault Lawsuit
The four women, identified only as Jane Does 1 through 4, allege that their time working at Robinson’s Chatsworth, California, residence was marked by horrifying incidents of sexual misconduct.
Each claims they were not only subjected to unwanted sexual advances, including digital penetration, forced oral sex, and rape, but also endured verbal abuse and underpayment for their labor.
Jane Doe 1 worked weekends, often alone with Robinson while his wife Frances was out. According to her, these were the moments he would allegedly lure her into his bedroom wearing only underwear, initiating unwanted physical contact on at least seven different occasions. She claims she resisted, even reminding him he was married, but he simply ignored her pleas.
Jane Doe 2 paints a similar picture, stating Robinson raped her more than 20 times from 2016 to 2020. Her account also includes alleged threats. Robinson would supposedly say his wife Frances would be "mean" to her if she refused his sexual demands.
Frances Robinson Allegations: What Did She Know?
Frances Robinson isn’t just a peripheral figure in this lawsuit. She’s a central one. The Frances Robinson allegations suggest she was not only aware of her husband’s alleged predatory behavior, but also actively ignored it.
According to the complaint, Frances verbally abused the staff and did nothing to stop or report the ongoing sexual misconduct, even though she allegedly knew about past settlements with other women.
The plaintiffs accuse her of failing to provide a safe workplace and enabling the toxic environment that allowed the abuse to continue unchecked. The lawsuit even points fingers at 25 unnamed individuals, saying a wider circle may have played roles in covering up or contributing to the hostile conditions.
Motown Singer Accused of Repeated Assault Across Multiple Homes
These accusations don’t stop at Robinson’s main Los Angeles residence. Jane Doe 4 says she was raped by the Motown singer accused of misconduct during a work trip to his Las Vegas home in 2007.
Over the years, she says, the abuse escalated and became a regular occurrence, with Robinson allegedly fondling, kissing, and raping her.
Jane Doe 3’s story includes claims that Robinson offered her $500 in exchange for oral sex, which she declined. She also says she was raped roughly 20 times over the course of her employment.
In all cases, the women say they stayed quiet out of fear – fear of losing their jobs, fear of public humiliation, and fear of retaliation from someone with Robinson’s influence.
$50 Million Sexual Misconduct Lawsuit Demands Justice
The $50 million sexual misconduct lawsuit filed in LA County Superior Court demands not just monetary compensation but justice. The plaintiffs are seeking a jury trial, asking for at least $50 million in damages to address the emotional trauma, negligence, and labor violations they say they’ve endured.
They allege that Robinson’s actions were not only malicious, but also showed a blatant disregard for their rights, safety, and dignity. Their accounts include not only allegations of sexual violence, but also wage theft, lack of rest breaks, and a culture of intimidation that kept them silent for years.
Smokey Robinson Sexual Assault Claims Rock Iconic Image
The Smokey Robinson sexual assault lawsuit marks a dramatic fall from grace for a man long revered as a pioneer of R&B and Motown magic. From Grammy wins to his place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Robinson’s achievements have been vast.
But, now, as these housekeepers sue Smokey Robinson, they’re calling for accountability and the spotlight is shifting.
Whether justice will be served remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the era of silence is over, and the voices of survivors are demanding to be heard.
