Savannah Guthrie is making an emotional public plea as the search for her missing mother stretches into its fourth week.

The Today show co-anchor, 54, posted a video on Instagram on Feb. 24 announcing that her family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the recovery of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie. Nancy was reported missing on Feb. 1 from her home outside Tucson, Arizona.

Authorities have said they believe Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home against her will.

“It is day 24 since our mom was taken in the dark of night from her bed, and every hour and minute and second and every long night has been agony since then, of worrying about her, and fearing for her, and aching for her, and most of all, just missing her,” Guthrie said in the video, her first public statement in more than a week.

‘We Still Believe in a Miracle’

In the emotional message, Guthrie acknowledged both hope and fear as investigators continue to search.

“We still believe in a miracle,” she said, before adding that her family understands the possibility that her mother may not be alive.

“She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the lord that she loves, and is dancing in heaven with her mom and her dad, and with her beloved brother, Pierce, and with our daddy. And if this is what is to be, then we will accept it. But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”

Guthrie said the family is offering the $1 million reward “for any information that leads us to her recovery.”

The FBI previously announced a $100,000 reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s recovery “and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.” Separately, anonymous tip line service 88-CRIME is offering up to $102,500, much of which came from an anonymous donation.

Guthrie also announced that her family will donate $500,000 to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, saying, “we are not alone in our loss.”

“If you've been waiting and you haven't been sure, let this be your sign to please come forward, tell what you know, and help us bring our beloved mom home so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming, or celebrate the beautiful, brave and courageous and noble life that she has lived,” she said. “Please be the light in the dark.”

Investigation Continues

The announcement comes as investigators in Arizona continue working the case with no arrests or major breakthroughs publicly announced.

Earlier this month, the FBI released doorbell camera footage showing a masked suspect at Nancy Guthrie’s front door. The suspect has been described as a male “approximately 5'9"-5'10" tall, with an average build,” wearing “a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said DNA analysis is underway on biological evidence recovered during the investigation. However, officials warned on Feb. 20 that the process “can be lengthy.”

Law enforcement has urged anyone with information to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI, submit tips through tips.fbi.gov, call the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900, or reach out to 88-CRIME.

Previous Appeals for Help

Guthrie and her family have shared multiple video statements since Nancy was reported missing.

On Feb. 15, Guthrie addressed the person she believes may have abducted her mother.

“It’s been two weeks since our mom was taken, and I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope and we still believe,” she said in that video. “And I wanted to say to whoever has her or knows where she is, that it’s never too late. You’re not lost or alone. And it is never too late to do the right thing, and we are here. We believe in the essential goodness of every human being, and it’s never too late.”

As the days pass, Guthrie’s latest message underscores both the uncertainty and urgency surrounding the case.

Her appeal for information now carries one of the largest private rewards offered in a missing persons investigation this year. But beyond the financial incentive, Guthrie’s message focused on hope, closure and bringing her mother home.
