Won't you be his YouTube neighbor?

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood is getting its first-ever dedicated YouTube channel, Fred Rogers Productions and Little Dot Studios announced in March — and the channel is launching this summer, 25 years after the show aired its final episode and 23 years after Fred Rogers himself passed away.

The channel will feature full-length episodes from the show's 895-episode, 31-season run, along with clips, shorts, and new compilations. For the first time, viewers will have a single, free, dedicated home for the series — something that has never existed before despite the show remaining one of the most beloved in American television history.

Why This Matters

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood has never been fully available in one place. While the show has been accessible through cable reruns on PBS, select episodes on PBS Kids and Amazon Prime Video, and a small presence on Pluto TV, the full catalog has remained scattered and hard to find. The YouTube channel changes that — making Rogers' 33-year body of work freely accessible to anyone with an internet connection, anywhere in the world.

Fred Rogers Productions President and CEO Paul Siefken called the launch a natural extension of Rogers' mission. "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood continues to inspire viewers young and old across four generations," Siefken said. "We're excited to partner with Little Dot Studios on this new YouTube channel that will make the wonder, kindness, and human connection of the series more discoverable and accessible than ever."

Little Dot Studios, a London-based company owned by All3Media that operates more than 1,000 social media channels, will manage the channel's day-to-day operations, content curation, and paid media services. Ben Arnold, co-managing director of Little Dot Studios U.S., described the opportunity as one the team approached with genuine reverence.

"Built on the legacy of Fred Rogers, Fred Rogers Productions continues to set the standard for thoughtful, values-driven children's media," Arnold said. "As huge fans of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, we're honored to bring our digital distribution experience to this partnership, building an intentional, audience-first presence on YouTube where these iconic stories can reach the next generation."

The Show and Its Legacy

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood first aired on PBS in 1968 and ran for 33 years, ending with its final episode in 2001. Each episode featured Rogers speaking directly to young viewers — changing into his cardigan and sneakers, feeding his fish, taking trips through the Neighborhood of Make-Believe with Daniel Tiger, Lady Elaine Fairchilde, and a cast of beloved puppets — while weaving in lessons about kindness, honesty, emotional intelligence, and the value of being exactly who you are.

Fred Rogers died in February 2003 at age 74 after a brief battle with stomach cancer. His work has never really gone away. The 2018 documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor? became one of the highest-grossing documentaries in American history. The 2019 biographical film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, starring Tom Hanks as Rogers, was an Oscar-nominated critical success. A generation of parents who grew up watching the show have been actively seeking ways to share it with their own children.

The YouTube channel gives them a place to do exactly that — and gives those children a neighbor they never had the chance to meet.
