Codenamed Operation Fake Monster Brazil, the investigation uncovered a digital campaign luring teenagers with coded language and extremist symbols. Authorities believe the would-be attackers falsely identified themselves as members of Lady Gaga’s devoted fan base, the Little Monsters.

Thanks to the swift actions of Rio's Civil Police and the federal justice ministry, multiple suspects were apprehended across several states, and the Copacabana Beach concert attack was stopped before it could begin.
