George Clooney Tranforms From Silver Fox to Brunette Locks

The infamous silver fox, George Clooney, has traded in his signature look for brunette hair. Since 2009, the actor has been sporting salt and pepper hair, so this transformation is definitely turning heads.

Clooney Sports New Look

The 63-year old actor was spotted in New York City on March 8 with his new chocolate brown hair color, looking almost unrecognizable. Clooney paired his new look with a pair of beige jeans, leather jacket, sunglasses, and Adidas sneakers.

Many people may be wondering and criticizing why Clooney decided to change his look up, including his wife, Amal Clooney.

In an interview, Clooney stated, "My wife is going to hate it because nothing makes you look older then when an older guy dyes his hair," he added, "my kids are going to laugh at me nonstop."

George Clooney and his wife have two children together, 7-year old twins, Alexander and Ella.

Why Did George Clooney Dye His Hair?

Aside from his silver hair being a signature look for the actor for nearly 20 years, Clooney also expressed his thoughts on embracing your age and your appearance that comes with it.

In this interview, Clooney shared the best thing someone getting older can do is "come to terms" with their aging appearance.

When asked if he ever thought about dying his hair, he said, "No, clearly I haven't. Clearly it's never been an issue or an issue, I don't think it would make much sense."

He also added, "I’m a big believer in the idea that you can’t try to look younger. You just have to try to look the best you can at the age you are and not worry about it.”

With this in mind, George Clooney likely didn't dye his hair to try to look younger, rather for an upcoming Broadway play called "Good Night and Good Luck". The play is an adaptation from a 2005 movie he co-wrote and directed.

In this play, Clooney will take on the role of journalist, Edward R. Murrow, although he portrayed news producer, Fred Friendly in the movie.

Who Does George Clooney's Hair?

While it's uncertain who dyed his hair, we can't discount the idea that he may have done it himself, being that he cuts his own hair.

In 2020, the actor admitted in an interview, "I've been cutting my own hair for 25 years. Look, my hair is really like straw, and so it's easy to cut. You can't really make too many mistakes."

He continued, “Years ago, I bought a thing called a Flowbee. It comes with a vacuum cleaner and clippers. I still have it. My haircuts take literally two minutes.”

This Flowbee device was popular in the 1980's on infomercials. While it might be old, it's still good enough for George Clooney.
