Fan Named Her Baby After Joe Jonas Following Jonas Brothers Concert Gender Reveal
For one Brazilian couple, the Jonas Brothers aren't just a favorite band — they're practically family.
Patricia Leda and her fiancé Lucas Carvalho, both from São Paulo, have had the Jonas Brothers woven into nearly every major milestone of their relationship: an engagement, a gender reveal, and now, a baby name. Their 5-month-old son is named Joseph — after Joe Jonas himself.
"It's a crazy journey," Leda told TODAY. "The Jonas Brothers have a special place in our heart, in all our stories of our family."
A Love Story Built Around a Band
Leda has been a Jonas Brothers fan since 2009, when she attended her first concert. She met Carvalho shortly after and, by her own account, made sure he became a fan too. When the couple flew from Brazil to New York City for a JoBros concert in 2024, Carvalho proposed. The band's fingerprints were already all over their relationship — but things were about to get even more intertwined.
In 2025, the couple discovered they were unexpectedly pregnant, having already purchased tickets to the kickoff of the Jonas Brothers' Greetings From Your Hometown tour in New Jersey. They decided to lean into it. Leda, who hosts a Brazilian show on Disney+, made a sign for the concert that read: "I'm pregnant. Will U reveal my baby's gender?" She also posted a callout to the band on Instagram, where hundreds of her followers shared it and tagged Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas directly.
After the concert began, a Jonas Brothers social media manager reached out to the couple via Instagram and asked for their seat locations. Leda assumed it was too late for anything to happen — until a member of the production team came to their seats and brought them backstage. The gender reveal was on.
A spotlight lit up the couple mid-show. Leda held a microphone as Joe Jonas walked over, accepted a sealed envelope from Carvalho, and opened it in front of the crowd. It was a boy.
Baby Joe
The couple named their son Joseph — using the full English form of the name rather than the more common Brazilian José — in honor of Joe Jonas. Baby Joe arrived on Jan. 11, 2026.
The story came full circle last week when the couple attended another Jonas Brothers concert in São Paulo — their first night out since the baby was born. Leda again reached out on Instagram hoping to connect with the band, but this time it was Santander Bank, a major concert sponsor, that saw her post and arranged a surprise meet and greet with the brothers.
"I was crying and all my makeup was gone," Leda said, laughing. "But it was such a special moment. I was so happy and it was like full circle: we had the gender reveal and now we get to meet them."
She's already thinking ahead. "I am throwing it out to the universe that when my baby is older we will get to introduce him," she said — and she has even bigger dreams for the wedding the couple has yet to have. "Oh my god," she said when asked if the brothers might one day perform. "It's my dream!"
