Dolly Parton Delays Vegas Shows Amid Health Struggles
Dolly Parton, one of country music’s most beloved icons, has announced the postponement of her highly anticipated Las Vegas concert run due to ongoing health issues. The 79-year-old singer and songwriter revealed the news on September 28 in a heartfelt message to her fans on social media, explaining that she needs time to undergo medical procedures before returning to the stage.
A Difficult Decision
“Unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton wrote in her statement. “As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see.”
The country legend, known for her tireless work ethic, reassured fans that this decision was not taken lightly. “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” she added.
While her doctors have urged her to slow down, Parton emphasized that she remains active in other aspects of her career. She noted that she will continue working on projects from Nashville while preparing for her eventual return to live performances.
New Dates Announced
Originally scheduled for December 2025, Parton’s residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will now take place in September 2026. The new dates for the six-show run of Dolly: Live in Las Vegas are:
September 17
September 19
September 20
September 23
September 25
September 26
Ticketholders will have their existing tickets honored for the rescheduled performances. Refunds are also available through Ticketmaster for those unable to attend the new dates.
A Show Decades in the Making
Parton’s Las Vegas residency marks her first extended run in more than three decades. Billed as a career-spanning event, Dolly: Live in Las Vegas promises fans a musical journey through her seven decades of hits, including “9 to 5,” “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “Coat of Many Colors.”
The concerts have been widely anticipated as a celebration of Parton’s enduring influence in country, pop, and Americana music. Given her long absence from an extended live engagement, the residency was expected to draw fans from around the world.
A Message of Hope
Despite the setback, Parton struck a characteristically optimistic tone in her message, reassuring fans that she has no plans to step away from music.
“Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she wrote. “But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”
The announcement was met with an outpouring of support from fans, many of whom expressed gratitude for her honesty and urged her to prioritize her health.
Looking Ahead
With the new dates set, fans now have something to look forward to in fall 2026. The postponed residency underscores both the demands of staging a large-scale show and Parton’s commitment to delivering performances that meet her own high standards.
For now, her supporters will have to wait a little longer to see her back under the Las Vegas lights, but as Parton herself promised, this is only a pause—not the end of her legendary journey.
