Disneyland Just Announced a $59 Ticket Deal and Disney Fans Are Excited

Disneyland and the word "cheap" don't often appear in the same sentence. That's what makes Disney's latest announcement so surprising.

The California theme park has introduced a Disneyland $59 ticket, giving park-goers a significantly less expensive way to experience the happiest place on earth this summer.

For a resort where single-day tickets can easily climb into the triple digits, a $59 admission price is enough to make Disney fans do a double-take. Before you start packing mouse ears and sprinting to the castle, though, there's a catch.

It's Not an All-Day Ticket

The new Disneyland evening ticket is exactly what it sounds like.

Instead of granting access from rope drop to park close, the ticket is only valid later in the day. You can enter Disneyland at 7 p.m. or Disney California Adventure at 5 p.m., and stay ‘til closing time.

The offer is available Sundays through Wednesdays, from July 12th through August 5th, and park reservations are still required.

In other words, you're trading time for savings. But, depending on how you like to experience Disney, that may not be a bad deal at all.

Nighttime Might Be the Best Time Anyway

A lot of Disneyland's magic happens after the sun goes down.

The lights come on, the temperatures cool off, and the fireworks fill the sky. California Adventure's World of Color draws more crowds, and Main Street starts to look like a dream.

For a lot of people, those evening hours are the highlight of the day. And that's part of what makes this Disneyland ticket deal interesting.

Instead of paying for 12 or 14 hours in the park, families can focus on the part they love the most.

The Timing Isn't Random

Disney didn't pull this offer out of a hat.

Everyone’s still celebrating the Disneyland 70th anniversary, a time full of special entertainment, themed decorations, exclusive merchandise, anniversary food offerings, and limited-time experiences throughout the resort.

Disney's anniversary festivities are continuing through August, making this one of the busiest and most event-filled summers the resort has hosted in years.

The company is also offering discounted children's tickets this summer, creating a few different ways for families to save, compared to standard admission prices.

Could This Become a Bigger Trend?

One reason this announcement is getting so much attention is that, for years, Disney fans have been asking for more flexible ticket options.

Not everyone wants to spend an entire day in a theme park. Some visitors are local. Others are annual passholders who bring friends.

Some simply want to watch a parade, chew on a churro, enjoy a few rides, and watch the fireworks before heading home. This new offer gives them a lower-cost alternative to a full-day admission ticket.

A Rare Chance to Spend Less at Disneyland

No one’s going to mistake Disneyland for a budget vacation.

But, finding cheap Disneyland tickets has become increasingly difficult in recent years. That's why a $59 ticket is generating so much excitement.

It may not get you a full day in the parks, but it does get you something many Disney fans care about most: a summer evening filled with fireworks, attractions, snacks, and just a little bit of magic.

And, for less than the price of some theme-park souvenirs, that's not a bad deal at all.
