Airbnb Just Listed Hannah Montana's Malibu Beach House for Free

Nobody had this on their 2026 bingo card.

To celebrate Hannah Montana's 20th anniversary, Airbnb listed the show's iconic Malibu beach house for $0 a night. Ten one-night stays opened up between April 6 and April 16 for up to four guests per booking. Requests opened March 26 and those spots almost certainly disappeared within minutes of going live.

It wasn't just a "sleep in a famous house" situation either. Guests got full access to the actual spaces from the show — including Hannah's closet, packed with recognizable costumes and accessories they could actually try on. Travel costs were on the guest to figure out, but the stay itself was completely free.

For anyone who spent their childhood watching Miley Stewart pull off an elaborate secret pop star double life on Disney Channel, the idea of actually standing in that closet holding one of those wigs is genuinely a lot to process.

Why Hannah Montana Is Everywhere Again

This resurgence didn't come out of nowhere. The show has been clawing its way back into the cultural conversation for a while now, driven almost entirely by the generation that grew up on it hitting their mid-to-late twenties and collectively deciding the rest of the internet needs to be reminded how much that show shaped them.

Hannah Montana ran from 2006 to 2011 and turned Miley Cyrus into a phenomenon practically overnight. It was the kind of show that defined a whole era of childhood for a specific group of people — the theme song alone can send a millennial or older Gen Z person into a full nostalgia spiral mid-scroll. For that generation, this wasn't just background TV. It was a whole identity.

The 20th anniversary brought fresh energy with a Hannahversary special that sent fans spiraling all over again. Clips resurfaced. Deep dive threads got written. People started rewatching episodes they hadn't thought about in years. And then the Jason Earles story went massively viral — the revelation that the actor playing teenage brother Jackson was actually 28 years old during filming — and a whole new wave of people got pulled back in all over again, digging through the show for secrets they missed the first time around.

Put all of that together and you had a fandom already buzzing at full volume before Airbnb dropped a free Malibu beach house listing directly into the middle of it.

The Internet Reacted Exactly Like You'd Expect

When the listing went live social media went completely sideways. Fans who spent their childhoods watching that beach house on a Disney Channel set suddenly had to sit with the fact that they could theoretically sleep there — for free — and the response was everything you'd expect from a generation for whom this show hits in a very specific emotional place.

The mix of excitement, full-blown nostalgia, and frantic people doing math on flights to Malibu was genuinely something to witness.

For ten lucky groups of fans, Hannah Montana got to become something more than a childhood memory. For everyone else, there's always the rewatch — and apparently plenty of company in doing it.
